The Western New York Flash announced the signing and return of forward Laura Heyboer.

After a rough start to 2013 that began with surgery to remove a titanium rod that was placed in her leg after breaking her Tabular and Fibula scoring a game-winning goal in 2009, Heyboer was a third round draft pick by Seattle Reign in the NWSL Supplemental Draft but was cut right before the final roster was announced. The Flash jumped on the opportunity to bring Heyboer back to the club that has won three consecutive championships, playing in three different leagues.

Heyboer played 17 minutes in the Flash’s 1-0 loss against Sky Blue FC this past weekend.
