Sky Blue FC continues to strengthen their 2013 NWSL roster as they announced on Monday the signing of goalkeeper Brittany Cameron, the team’s second pick in this year’s Supplemental Draft.
“Brittany is an experienced and veteran goalkeeper,” said Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra. “We are confident that she will successfully fill her role with Sky Blue FC.”
The addition of Brittany Cameron is exciting because not only has she played alongside O’Hara and Wilson during their 2010 FC Gold Pride campaign which resulted in being crowned the WPS Championship winners, but she has built a name for herself as a goalkeeping coach. With work experience from Dartmouth, Niagara University and USD, Cameron has proven that she can train the next generation of goalkeepers. Her first season with Dartmouth resulted in them finishing second in their conference. The goalkeeper for Dartmouth, Tatiana Saunders, earned a spot for the second team NSCAA All Mid-Atlantic Region.
