Equalizer Soccer is reporting that the Federation of Mexican Football will not be allocating players to the NWSL for the 2016 season.
This wasn’t much of a surprise as Mexico had been cutting back on their allocations from 16 (2013) to 8 (2014) to 4 (2015).
“After the World Cup, nobody in particular requested any of the players,” Mexico coach Leo Cuellar told The Equalizer last September. “The clubs are not at fault. I think we need to challenge our players to be on the level [of the NWSL].”
