The Portland Thorns announced broadcasting details for the inaugural 2013 NWSL season. All home matches will be streamed for free in high definition video and on the radio on Freedom 970 (970 AM, mobile apps & webcasting), a sister station for 750 The Game, home of the Portland Timbers.

In addition, Ann Schatz will be the play-by-play voice of the Thorns, while Angela Harrison will provide commentary and analysis.

Schatz comes to the Thorns with more than 30 years of broadcasting experience, is most recognizable to Portlanders for her work as a sideline reporter for the Portland Trail Blazers from 1999-2006 and as an reporter for KOIN, with her most recent work calling games for CBS Sports and the Pac-12 Network.

Harrison will be familiar to Portland Pilots fans as a standout goal keeper and All-American from well as a radio analyst for the past three years. In addition to her collegiate career, Harrison won two W-League Championships with the Boston Renegades in 2001 and 2002. In addition to her playing career, Harrison has served as a goalkeeper coach with the youth national team and at the collegiate level. Currently, she is serving as the director of operations for the Oregon Premier League.

In remarks made at Portland City Hall, Thorns and Timbers COO Mike Golub remarked that they are expecting 14,000 spectators for the opening match against Pacific Northwest rivals Seattle Reign on April 21.
