Portland Thorns FC – Nadine Angerer
Thorns FC goalkeeper Nadine Angerer made a season-high seven saves, including stopping a penalty kick just minutes into the second half as Portland earned a 1-0 win over the Houston Dash on May 14.
Chicago Red Stars – Jen Hoy
Hoy started and scored in each match during the team’s road sweep at Boston, including the game winner Sunday. She was also the catalyst on the Red Stars third goal in that match, making a hustle play to recover defensively and earn the steal that led to Chalupny’s goal. She is currently 3rd on the team in total minutes played and has been a dangerous weapon up top for the Red Stars as she uses her speed to threaten opposing defenses.
Washington Spirit – Jodie Taylor
Taylor’s movement and quality on the ball caused problems all game. She capped off a ‘complete’ strikers performance with 2 goals and played a major role in the other that saw the Spirit produce a second half come back and earn a 3-2 win against the Flash.
FC Kansas City – Erika Tymrak
After a lower back injury kept 2013’s Rookie of the Year out of some matches, Erika Tymrak has made crucial contributions to FC Kansas City this week. She made an impact as a second half substitute against Seattle and struck a long-range drive from outside the box to tie up the score. Tymrak had credit on both of the Blues’ goals against Houston. She earned the assist on Lauren Holiday’s goal and beat a defender for a ‘Goal of the Season’, upper-90 goal later in the match.
