After her dominating performance in Week 15 of NWSL regular season play, the media voted FC Kansas City forward Erika Tymrak the NWSL Player of the Week.
Tymrak recorded a goal and an assist in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Seattle Reign FC, completing the season sweep and extending Kansas City’s unbeaten streak to seven games.
Tymrak’s assist came in the 39th minute, when she intercepted a pass from Reign midfielder Megan Rapinoe, and set up Lauren Holiday for her 10th goal of the season. Tymrak then gave Kansas City a much needed insurance goal in the 86th minute to help secure all 3 points.
The was the sixth goal of the season for Tymrak- moving her into a four-way tie for fourth in the league.
FC Kansas City returns to action tonight as they host the Boston Breakers at 8:35 p.m. ET at Verizon Wireless Field in Overland Park, Kan. The team will be sporting their “all-black kits” for the first time this season. With a win, Kansas City can move into a tie for first place with Sky Blue FC.
