Heather O’Reilly was named NWSL Player of the Week (Week Three) by the media for her two-goal performance against the Western New York Flash.

In the 16th minute O’Reilly was on the receiving end of a cross by Sydney Leroux and slid the ball away from a diving Adrianna Franch to tie the match at 1-1. Then in the 83rd minute, with the match still tied 1-1, Lianne Sanderson found a streaking O’Reilly running across the top of the box and HAO put a left footed shot through the legs of Franch to give the Breakers the lead and ultimately the win.

“I’m super excited. I’m happy for the team’s performance and the win,” O’Reilly said after the match on Saturday. “To win on the road in this league is tough. I’m excited about where this team is at right now. We’ve seen a lot of growth in the team, and we’re a lot more comfortable.”
