McCall Zerboni announced via Twitter that she will be returning to the Western New York Flash (pending league approval) for the 2013 NWSL season.

The signing wasn’t much of a surprise for fans as Zerboni played two seasons with the Western New York Flash (WPS / WPSL Elite) including being named captain during the team’s 2012 championship season.

Prior to her WPS days, Zerboni was a member of the 2003 U-17 US National Team and competed against Canada and Germany. Ranked as the fifth best midfielder in the nation by Student Sports Magazine, McCall was a solid player for the UCLA Bruins to recruit. McCall began her college career playing for the UCLA Bruins from 2005 – 2008. She rounded out her career with 73 appearances, 48 starts and 23 points. Many of her notable goals acted as game winners. In her senior year during the NCAA tournament, the Bruins were up against Cal State Fullerton in the first round. The Bruins won with a 3-1 victory thanks in part to her game winning goal which led the Bruins to win three consecutive games against Arizona, ASU and Washington State.
