The Boston Breakers announced via Twitter today that they’ve signed free agent forward Lianne Sanderson.

Joanna Lohman posted the following picture to Twitter late Monday night of Sanderson signing her NWSL contract.

A determined English striker and former member of the England National Team, Sanderson played in 29 games and scored 8 goals for her national country between 2006- 2010. In addition, Sanderson has built an impressive international playing career. As a striker, she has played for renowned teams such as the RCD Espanyol, Philadelphia Independence and the Arsenal Ladies. However, her most notable membership occurred at the age of 9 when she was selected to play with the Arsenal Ladies youth academy. She would go on to amass 91 goals in 77 appearances during two seasons (2006-2008) and conclude her career with Arsenal after playing with the club for 11 years.

During her UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign with the Arsenal Ladies team, Sanderson scored six goals and played in 27 games. Her knack for racking up points never ceased as she brought her talent to the United States, signing with the WPS club Philadelphia Independence (WPS) and then with DC United (W-League). In just seven appearances for the DC United Women in 2012, Sanderson found the back of the net six times and assisted on two more.
