The Houston Dash announced today that they have signed Australian goalkeeper Lydia Williams and will be added to the roster pending receipt of her International Transfer Certificate.

“I’m very excited to acquire Lydia as she brings a wealth of international experience to our squad. She has played in the NWSL, so she understands what playing in this league is all about,” Dash head coach Randy Waldrum said. “With the addition of Lydia and our recent draft picks, we’ve had a very exciting week.”

This will be Williams second stint in the NWSL. She joined in the Western New York Flash in 2014 replacing injured goalkeeper Adrianna Franch. Williams recorded 2 shutouts in 14 appearances for the Flash before tearing her ACL while participating in the 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup with the Australian Women’s National Team.
