Injury Report:

Seattle Reign – None.

FC Kansas City hopes to bounce back after another tough draw last week. Little more than two weeks after conceding two late goals in a draw with Sky Blue FC, the Blues gave up two more in extra time in Chicago and drew with the Red Stars. Seattle comes off two solid wins last week against the Western New York Flash and Washington Spirit.

What To Expect:

Seattle is not the same team that FCKC defeated 1-0 on June 9. Midfielder Megan Rapinoe has returned from France, Hope Solo has had six more weeks back from injury, and a team that looked destined for the bottom of the pile at the season’s start suddenly has everyone’s attention.

In spite of their recent resurgence, Seattle remains on the brink of elimination from the playoff spots. With their backs against the wall, they have not lost in six matches – the second longest streak in the NWSL this season. FCKC’s shaky late-match defense will not be enough against such a tenacious team, and the Blues may need to shift to a more conservative approach to hold any late leads.

Score Prediction: 1-1 with goals from Lauren Holiday and Christine Nairn.
